Lawrence Haymakers Baseball

2026 Team Packet

Everything families need to know about expectations, communication, and how we operate.

๐Ÿ“… Season Structure

The team holds two practices per week and typically plays one to two games per week during the season. Days and times vary โ€” all scheduling is posted in the GameChanger app. We may also participate in local tournaments, though that's still to be determined.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Communication

All schedule updates, practice times, and game logistics are managed through the GameChanger app. Families should download the app and join the team. Coaching staff will respond the same day when possible.

โœ… Attendance & Availability

Consistent attendance is essential for player development and team preparation.

  • A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for any missed practice or game, except in cases of illness or emergency.
  • Known conflicts must be communicated as soon as possible.
  • Absences must be reported in the GameChanger app AND emailed to Staff@LawrenceHaymakers.com.
  • Failure to communicate availability may affect playing time.

โšพ Player Expectations

  • Give consistent effort at practices and games.
  • Be coachable and willing to learn.
  • Show respect to teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials.
  • Support teammates and put the team first.

๐Ÿค Parent Expectations & Dugout Conduct

Parent conduct is non-negotiable. There is zero tolerance for negative reinforcement or disrespectful behavior during games or practices.

  • Encourage players positively โ€” all players, not just your own.
  • Allow coaches to coach. Do not coach from the stands.
  • Address concerns privately with coaching staff.
  • Parents are not permitted in the dugout.
Parent support is valued. We need help with dugout setup, scorekeeping, and stat tracking through GameChanger. Families interested in helping secure sponsorships are encouraged to reach out.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Player Development & Positions

Players will learn and play all positions throughout the season. Certain positions may be emphasized based on individual development needs. Playing time emphasizes development, effort, attitude, and team needs. Roles may evolve throughout the season.

๐Ÿ‘• Uniform & Equipment

Players are expected to wear the correct team uniform for games and maintain all equipment in safe, proper condition. Coaches may remove unsafe or inappropriate equipment from use.

โš ๏ธ Injury & Liability

Participation in baseball involves inherent risk. The Lawrence Haymakers organization, coaches, staff, and volunteers are not liable for injuries sustained during team activities except where required by law. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring appropriate medical coverage for their player.
